“The support is great. Our questions have always been addressed in a timely manner, especially in the beginning. Furthermore, there was excellent communication between Nirix and our electronic health records provider- Healthquest. In the beginning, these parties would coordinate things between each other without involving me which was a nice relief. A less qualified vendor is also not likely to be up to speed with the privacy laws and the delicate issues impacting information security which to me were huge.
After opening, we had to go through a rigorous process to prove our record keeping was totally secure and Nirix was able to meet all criteria that were demanded. The last thing I needed was to have gone with a provider that was not going to meet these requirments. This would have killed the efficiency of my office since one of the main things I needed was access to Alberta’s electronic filing system Netcare. I could not believe all the highly tedious items required in my Netcare application and Nirix met all of them thankfully.
I like that I do not have to worry about backing up any patient data in my office and that this organization meets all requirements set out by the government. Securing the data offsite minimizes security breaches which would be a nightmare to deal with if I had a server of my own in my office or if I dealt with a company that did not abide by all current information security practices. Nirix was also able to integrate other requests I had like using Ring Central as an electronic faxing system. All in all, this solution has been a great fit and has always tried to show flexibility to ensure all my office needs are being met.
There has never been a day when our desktop did not work because of an issue with Nirix. While there were some slower days, this had solely to do with Shaw’s internet connection. Furthermore, other items of our business like our internet based faxing and internet based phone system have been well coordinated with Nirix. It is an unbelievable asset to be able to access a desktop remotely and to do so reliably. I have tried accessing Nirix from multiple points overseas, and in the country. All attempts were successful and allowed me to keep in touch with what was happening in my business. I am allowed to access highly private and confidential records and emails for the time I need them without having to worry about travelling with sensitive patient information. I too am not someone that fully understands the concept of the “cloud” but in basic terms, the idea that information can be stored and backed up and then accessed from anywhere without the chance of losing that information is invaluable.
My husband is my “IT” person and he researched multiple different companies before we chose Nirix. My husband in general researches things ad nauseam and asked some very hard ball questions of all providers to ensure we were getting the best option for our money. Nirix came out on top with our analysis of service providers.”
