“We made the switch from an in house Groupwise mail system to NIRIX Hosted Exchange about 3 years ago. One of my major concerns prior to the switch was spam control, as it was consuming a great deal of my time filtering and dealing with spam issues. I was also concerned about the performance level of a mail system that was external to our network, however it truly is not an issue at all. Mail flows very quickly, and we have never experienced delays. It is very rare that any spam messages make it through to my users, essentially removing a time consuming part of mail management.
The initial transition went very smoothly over the course of one weekend, and we experienced no outages during that time. In fact, in the three years that we have had NIRIX providing our mail services, we have never experienced a service outage. They have always informed me in advance of when system testing and upgrades will be taking place, and we have never been negatively affected by these.
I like that the Outlook licensing is part of the package, and that the latest clients are always available. A very important note about NIRIX is that when I do have occasion to phone for support, I always talk to a live person right away, and 99% of the time my issue is resolved while on the phone with that first call. This level of service is not common, and really does set NIRIX apart from their competition.
