Built on our “Defense in Depth” methodology, our Advanced Cloud Services operate with multiple levels of security. All transferred data is AES-encrypted, transmitted via SSL, and stored in a SSAE 16 SOC1 Type II and PCI DSS compliant world-class datacenter.

What is SSAE 16 SOC1 Type II?

SSAE 16 replaces the Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70) certification, or the equivalent CICA 5970 certification previously held by NIRIX’s datacenter.

Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) Number 16 is an authentication standard created by the Auditing Standards Board (ASB) of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). This standard regulates the audit of Service Provider operations (e.g. Cloud Service Providers), for Service Providers that manage/store a customers’ financial reporting (ICFR).

SOC 1 refers to service organizations that require certification on internal control over financial reporting, and Type II indicates full certification for the Service Provider, conducted in accordance with SSAE 16.
