Henry YipHenry Yip
Chairman

Henry is a senior business executive, with an extensive background in the telecom industry (former Vice President of TELUS and Executive Vice President of Allstream (formerly AT&T)).  He is involved in advisory roles for early stage companies and is active in evaluating and investing in early stage business ventures. He was the CEO of DriveABLE Assessment Centres Inc., and has served on and chaired many boards. In addition to chairing the advisory board for NIRIX, Henry also chairs on the advisory board for the Prototype Development Centres initiative, involving TRLabs, NAIT, SAIT and Red Deer College. An active member in the community, Henry is the vice chair of the University of Western Ontario Engineering Advisory Council. He is also involved in the Youth-In-Motion organization as a judge for the Top 20 Under 20 award and as a mentor for the winners of the award. He is also the chair of the Canadian Youth Business Foundation’s Edmonton-based Loan Review Committee.

Henry brings to NIRIX his strengths and broad experience in corporate business, operations and implementation.

 

John PinsentJohn Pinsent
Advisory Member

John currently serves as Director of the Alberta Venture Channel and is a founding partner of St. Arnaud, Pinsent and Associates Chartered Accounts (SA&P). John previously worked with Ernst and Young LLP as an Assurance Senior Manager and their Director of Technology, Communication and Entertainment (TCE) assurance services for Northern Alberta. He also served as the Steering Committee Chairman and was the co-author of Ernst and Young’s annual Alberta Technology Report. He remains active in a number of information, communication and technology (ICT) initiatives within the Province, serving as an advisor, board member and/or director on a number of boards of technology and biotechnology companies. John has been the recipient of a number of awards, including the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta (ICAA) Distinguished Service Award for his support of the Province’s high technology community, the ICAA Early Achievement Award and the Economic Development Edmonton Ambassador Award for his formation work on the Greater Edmonton Competitiveness Strategy.

John brings to NIRIX’s Board his strength in financial planning and fundraising, which will influence NIRIX’s future growth, as well as the direction the company will take in the coming years.
