What is a firewall?

        A Firewall is technology that regulates Internet traffic moving in and out of a network. A firewall
        can protect you and your network from unwanted and unauthorized web traffic by patrolling all
        incoming and outgoing traffic and only allowing information that conforms to security policies set
        by your organization.

   Why do I need firewall protection?

       You may think that your business computers aren't of interest to intruders. But many hackers don't
       care who their targets are - they just want to break into as many computers as possible. Your
       business and your reputation can be seriously undermined by a security breach. Even if a hacker
       invasion doesn't do any harm, you can lose valuable time verifying if damage has been done.

       dynamic protocols. The flexible nature of stateful inspection firewalls provide the best speed and
        transparency for your data transmissions. 

   What happens if an intruder tries to break into my network?

        If Nirix's Managed Firewall service detects data that fails a predetermined firewall access rule, the
        packet will simply be blocked from being sent any further, eliminating any potential threat.

   Is Nirix liableif there are intrusions to my network?

       No firewall can provide 100 percent protection for your network. Nirix can not control, manage and
       monitor every aspect of your network, therefore Nirix can not be legally liable for any intrusions,
       should they occur. However, Nirix's Managed Firewall service provides the highest level of

   Do hackers know whether or not I have a firewall?

       Managed Firewall is not easily visible to outside users because the service does not send error
       messages to people attempting to enter your network illegally. This feature provides added

   What's the difference between a Virtual Private Network (VPN) and a firewall?

       A VPN allows data to flow safely through a private, guarded connection, whereas the job of a
       firewall is to protect your computer by patrolling the access to your network and blocking harmful
       data. A properly configured VPN can communicate through firewalls.
