MANAGED BACKUP - REMOTE AGENT INSTALL
Your online resource for Managed Backup

Before you can start backing up data to Nirix Technology’s Remote Backup Server, you need to install the NirixRBA (Remote Backup Agent) onto your computer. For a free trial account, you can visit our web site and sign up for a new account.

Installation instructions for Windows 95/98/ME/XP/2000/2003 clients only.

Step 1
Download the software from our website here and save it to a temporary directory of your choice (e.g. C:\TEMP)

Step 2
Navigate to the folder (e.g. c:\temp) where you saved the file and double click the file to initiate the installation process.

Step 3
If you encounter an "Open File - Security Warning", select the [RUN] button and continue. There is no need to worry about the warning as this is a standard Windows XP warning when you try to run an executable program.

Step 4
At the Welcome Screen, you can click [NEXT] to continue.

Step 5
At the License Agreement page, If you agree and choose to use our software then select the "I accept the agreement" and click the [NEXT] button to continue.

Step 6
At the Select Destination Location page, if you would like to install the software to an alternate directory of your choice you can click the [BROWSE] button. If you choose to install the software into the default directory, you only need to click the [NEXT] button to continue.

Step 7
At the Select Start Menu Folder, you can click the [NEXT] button to continue.

Step 8
At the Select Additional Tasks page, you can choose to install the software for just yourself so that only you get to see the program when you log into your computer OR you can choose to install it for everyone so that everyone can see it when they log in as well (this is recommended). Press the [NEXT] button to continue.

Step 9
On the final Ready to Install page, check all your settings and ensure that everything looks ok. To begin the installation process, click the [INSTALL] button.

Step 10
The installation process should now be proceeding and your screen should look similar to the one below.

Step 11
At the last setup screen, click the [FINISH] button to end the installation.
